TACTICAL HANDGUN
INSTRUCTOR SCHOOL
The Tactical Handgun Instructor
School is intended for the public and private law
enforcement firearms instructor, already proficient
in teaching safe handling and shooting of the law
enforcement handgun and who wishes to further develop
his or her tactical shooting program. Law enforcement
officers who are about to be assigned duties as
their agency firearms instructor will also benefit
from this school and are eligible to attend. The
curriculum is designed to enhance the firearms instructor's
knowledge and ability to teach and conduct tactical
handling and shooting techniques with duty handgun
and off duty handgun. The school will also assist
the law enforcement firearms instructor to develop
a safe, effective, agency-related law enforcement
tactical shooting program, in the classroom and
on the range.
We reasonably expects all students to demonstrate
safe gun handling and marksmanship. Students participating
in this school must also be physically capable of
quickly and safely assuming standing, kneeling and
prone positions, maintaining them, and safely recovering
without assistance.
Student instructors are instructed using proven
"supermarket" methodology. To this end, firearms
instructors are introduced to and encouraged to
discuss and experiment with a wide variety of tactical
shooting techniques and philosophies. This method
of instruction allows student instructors to choose
shooting and handling tactics that will best serve
their students not just to survive but to win
a lethal confrontation encountered in the performance
of duty and off duty.
Students are responsible for providing their own
equipment, transportation, meals and lodging. Schools
are limited in size and a place can only be reserved
on receipt of full tuition. We are not responsible
for any expenses incurred, other than tuition, in
the event the school is canceled by the host . Cancellations
by a student will incur a $100 fee.
